EMPOWERMENT TAROT READING

angelic tarot reading

I don’t know about you, but has the world felt like it’s lost its damn mind to you lately? Political tensions, market fluctuations, scrapping over resources, war, conflict, corruption, and obscene abuses of power. I thought today was a good day to unwind and quiet my mind by channelling an empowerment tarot reading.

My vibration has felt so low. The collective vibration has felt very low too. So, I decided today to come back to my centre and ask my higher self and Spirit to guide me in navigating these turbulent times and gain insight on how we call to raise our vibration right now.

READING THEME: RECLAIM YOUR POWER AND RELEASE YOUR BURDENS

I asked Spirit to show me how to overcome the overwhelming low vibrational energies surrounding us during this time.

Some of the themes addressed through this reading involve reclaiming the idea of personal sovereignty and empowerment. It is easy to feel as though everything is out of control and there is nothing we can do to protect ourselves and others from the impending forces of humanity.

I have struggled with allowing too much negativity and propaganda into my energetic field. I have been watching the mainstream media – due to the energy and cost of living crisis happening here in the UK and back home in America. I turned off the news yesterday, put down the remote, and realized that listening to their messages and absorbing the greed and indifference of the people who make decisions on our collective behalf is damaging my mental and spiritual health.

I have a degree in communication and media studies – I should know better than to fall into these traps – but I am human, and the influence of fear is not something I am immune to any more than the next person. But how do we reclaim our power when it feels like powerlessness is all there is? We turn inward, quiet our minds, and ask our higher power to shine a light on the darkness so that we can begin to feel like there is something we can do and a way to heal ourselves and those we love.

CARD ONE: POWER

EMPOWERMENT TAROT READING
Angels of Light Cards – Diana Cooper

The first pulled card is so fitting because it reminds us to reclaim our power. I have been sucked into the outside noise that I believed was telling me I am powerless. I can say I have been giving my power away like it’s nobody’s business.

We feel powerless when we engage in fear-based living. The mainstream media, social media, influencer media, and capitalism have been very in our face about the inequity and imbalance of power taking place.

The angels are telling us to embrace our power – to nourish ourselves and build our compassion, strength, and confidence. We are reminded through this card that nobody has the power to make us feel or believe anything we do not accept. Low vibrational energies and the constant noise of the darkness surrounding us can make us feel separate, weak, and alone – but we are none of these things when we choose to believe we aren’t.

The angels ask us to use the affirmation: “I am serene, powerful, and confident.”

Meditation, quieting the mind, and reconnecting with our inner desires and beliefs will help us spiritually recalibrate our energy field and cast light on our inner strengths. Whenever the outside world becomes too much, know that you can always turn inward and find your highest good.

CARD TWO: THE WORLD

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling less celebratory about things lately than I have for a long while, which is why the first of the three tarot cards pulled for this reading was The World card. The world is the final card of the major arcana – it symbolizes the completion of a cycle/journey, but it also represents welcoming new energy, opportunities, and beginnings.

The World card in this reading reminds us to enjoy the journey and welcome the new stuff that comes our way. In this reading, I believe Spirit communicates that where our attention goes, our energy flows. The universe will show us if we focus on negative, low-vibrational energy.

Spirit asks us to use the affirmation: “I celebrate life and welcome new energy.”

Start looking for things to be grateful for right now – whether it’s the cup of coffee you have each morning, your family and friends, or the fact that you have a roof over your head and food at each meal, there is always something to focus on that provides us with a deep sense of gratitude.

CARD THREE: THE EIGHT OF SWORDS

Swords in the minor arcana of the tarot represent mental and inner strength. I like to think of the swords as metaphorically cutting through challenges, thoughts, and negative influences. The number eight in numerology represents the infinity symbol and balance and harmony, so the eight swords show us that we need to cut through the binds keeping us in a negative, low vibrational space to release ourselves from them.

Spirit showed me themes of “indoctrination” when I pulled this card out of the deck – that much of what we focus on and how we cultivate our experiences – are learned behaviours and ideologies. These behaviours and ideologies act as spiritual ‘binds’ that keep us from growth and expansion.

Spirit asks us to use the affirmation: “I release myself from self-inflicted binds.”

Where in your life are you accepting the status quo without question? Please look at what could be holding you back, whether it’s a limiting belief, an old story about yourself that isn’t true, or a projection showing false identity in others and their motivation. Use the swords’ energy to cut through these potential ties binding you to old energies and experiences.

CARD FOUR: THE SEVEN OF SWORDS

The Crystal Power Tarot by Jayne Wallace

More confirmation from Spirit came when I pulled The Seven of Swords card. The number seven in numerology represents wisdom, success, and the pursuit of unwavering truth – which, combined with the sword’s representation of mental energy, asks us to evaluate what we truly value in our lives.

Spirit asks us to value ourselves and reminds us that it is difficult to authentically and holistically value anyone or anything else if we don’t value ourselves.

We can find value in everything from our most significant successes to our perceived greatest “failures” because inside of every cause or effect in a lesson to be learned and growth to be experienced.

Spirit asks us to use the affirmation: “I take great care of what I value.”

Showing gratitude for lessons learned is the perfect way to connect to empowerment. So often, when something happens, we assume it’s happened “to” us instead of “for” us. There is value in everything that happens and a lesson in everything we experience. When we learn to acknowledge and embrace that truth – we can become unstoppable.

CARD FIVE: BONUS CARD FROM THE UNIVERSE

The Universe Has Your Back Deck by Gabby Bernstein

I love Gabby Bernstein’s The Universe Has Your Back card deck – it is full of wisdom and advice that is simplistic in nature.

To close this reading, Spirit says, “I choose to learn through love.”

Whether we are viewing ourselves or the world around us, if we treat everyone and everything as a lesson to show ourselves and others more compassion, kindness, and forgiveness, by default, we choose to learn through love.
